I am so sorry that I didn’t get to post again last weekend but things got a little busy and then I had a family of sick males, who both thought they were about to die, funny how if men are sick they are dying but wives and mothers are not allowed to be sick.

I have a new kit out at the Studio, it is another beach orientated kit, called Island Girl. I grew up in the beautiful islands of New Guinea so I have a love of palm trees, blue water and warm breezes. I lived in a beautiful place called Rabaul, surrounded by active volcanoes, that we considered our playground, as kids it was heaven on earth to us. But those volcanos that we played on and in tried their hardest to destroy our beautiful home in 1994, and covered the place in deep ash. The town hasn’t been rebuilt, only a few determined people actually live in the town area and the main business centre is now 30 odd miles away in the safe zone. This is what home used to look like and this is the eruption, a twin eruption, Matupi started first and the Vulcan followed an hour later, Vulcan continued for 3 days, but Matupi still groans and belches today. Even the church I was married in didn’t survive the onslaught.

Now back to my kit, it is the Deal of the Day today, so it is 75% of, tomorrow it will be 40% of the Bundle and 20% of the kit, so go grab it while it is such a bargain.

Boo has a new kit

I meant to post this yesterday, but personal events delayed me. My middle son had to go to hospital and have a skin Cancer removed from his lower lip, the 2nd one he has had, the result of our hot Aussie sun, years of surfing and 15 years of working on roofs as a Roof Tiler, have taken their toll on his face, even though he wore sunscreen. Anyway surgery was delayed 4 hours but I didn’t know that so I sat here worrying for hours, waiting for the phone call to go and collect him, it finally came just after 7pm, thankfully it all went well and hopefully he won’t get anymore. Having personally experienced the destruction of 3 Tsunami’s back in the early 70’s, when I lived in Papua New Guinea, I just sat stunned by what happened in Japan, my heart goes out to all the families that we affected by this event. Flood Relief

Hi everyone, as some of you know, I live in Southeast Queensland and just 2 weeks ago, almost all of Queensland was devastated by a series of floods, the cleanup has been massive and will be ongoing for years. From roads, to rail tracks and homes and businesses. 75% of Queensland is a disaster area, in Brisbane alone over 11,900 homes were completely flooded and 14,700 partially flooded, 2500 businesses were flooded and the same number partially flooded. It will take a long time for Queensland to recover and help is needed everywhere.
I was lucky, I live on a hill and in an area not badly affected, but my Daughter lives in Brisbane and so do other family members, and they were affected. As soon as our floods ended, Victoria (at the southern end of Australia) started to suffer a flood crisis as well. Now we have 2 cyclones heading in our direction and with so much waterlogged land we may have another crisis on our hands.

29 Australian and international designers have banded together to help support many Australians, animals and communities decimated by one Australia's worse national disasters.

What happened?
On Saturday, Feb 7, the temperature in Melbourne was 33'c by 9am. By noon it was 40'c and by 2.50 pm soared to 47.9'c (a state record).
Thousands of people were also about to start running from the inferno that would become one of Australia's worst peacetime disasters.
Trees ignited in the blink of an eye. By the time people heard the roar, it was too late to flee ahead of the flames.Unfortunately no one or thing could have stopped this inferno that wiped out communities, bushland, and lives within minutes. Many towns now cease to exist!.
After watching interviews with survivors, many say that they cant put into words what they went through,saw or felt on that day.

Well I'm back again with heaps of news and a freebie for you.

First of all, its Stone Accents 1st Birthday in September, wow I can't believe its been a year already, and we have some great presents to give to everyone who joins in on the celebrations.

Hi everyone, I'm sorry I've been such a bad blogger again, but things have been really busy lately, but things should quiten done now. It is my mothers birthday today, she turned 90 and some of her friends gave her a small party. It has become really hard to get her to leave the house, so it was a great achievement to get her to go, anyway she had a great time. Tomorrow will be a different story as it is the 2nd anniversary of my Dads passing, so it will be a sad day.
